Punch in the gut

Standard

I just got a call back from the eating disorder clinic. They no longer accept my insurance. I feel like I’ve been punched in the gut. It took a lot to get up the courage just to contact them, and now they can’t help me.

  1. They should have been able to refer you to another clinic that accepts your insurance? If not, you can call your insurance or simply go to the ER. Get the help you need, ok? Don’t let a receptionist that isn’t willing to go above and beyond for you keep you down. Is there a friend or family member that you can get to help you deal with insurance BS?

  2. I don’t know you but I want you to know that I’m so proud of you for taking the steps you need to find help. Despite this setback, you are on the right path and I wish you nothing but good things in your future. Don’t be discouraged if things don’t work out perfectly right away. Wishing you strength!

  3. I hope you hear from the other place, and I am so sorry this happened. I have been having insurance troubles, too, but nothing as severe as this. I bet you can work with a place that is not as good- you are motivated. You know how to do this!

  4. oh my gosh that’s tough! I wonder what their reason is for no longer accepting it is? I mean I know it’s a moot point as you cannot go there but seriously a petition may need to be formed in instances where they drop a insurance simply because it brings in a clientele they deem is not of their liking or something discriminatory. Sometimes these things have to be researched. I have heard of companies dropping carriers simply because THEY were too lazy to put in things properly and wanted carriers that did all the work willingly and ones that did not they dropped.
