But not like you’d think

I was in a Halloween mood so I watched Scream. I’d never seen it before. I watched it right before bed. My ex told me he hoped I didn’t have nightmares. With my PTSD, I’m very prone to getting nightmares.

I did have nightmares, but not like you’d think. I had eating disorder nightmares. Dreams like being attacked by food. Or dreams where I’m forced to eat food. Dreams where I eat and can’t purge. Dreams of being chased by food with legs. On and on, all night, I had eating disordered nightmares. These dreams are very draining and I usually wake up crying.

  1. Urgh. I know those dreams. The underlying anxiety and fear is the same; just different subconscious triggers to instill that feeling. So many times I’ve woken up screaming and crying. I hope you get some rest and some respite. Sleep sweetly. xo.

  2. I don’t have an eating disorder although I get accused of it often enough. Humans are never happy unless they are trying to bring someone else down. Anyway, I still have “Drunk Dreams” where I’m out somewhere drunk and I have to get home but can’t. I usually wake up with tears after those. When I realize I’m home and ok I do feel immense relief. Hope you can get some relief.
