Something you may or may not know about me is that I looove peanut butter. I don’t eat it often, but I love it immensely.
Well, tonight, I decided it was too late to throw coffee into my shake like I normally do (since I normally drink it in the morning) but I wanted to mix it up from just straight chocolate, so I threw a little peanut butter into my Shakeology. Can we say delicious?? It tastes like Reese’s peanut butter cups. It feels too naughty to be my healthiest meal of the day. Sometimes, and this is probably my eating disorder talking, I feel guilty for drinking my shakes because they’re so yummy that I feel like I must be doing something wrong.
Tell your brain that it is medicine, which is pretty much is, and it just happens to taste good.

That reminds me of an article I read in treatment on how food is medicine and how it heals the body. I need to try to keep that in mind.

How long have you been doing shakeology and any weight loss with it? I thinking about trying it out.

I’ve done it for about 2 weeks and lost about 8 pounds. Do you want me to send you the link for it? (Or answer any other questions)

Link yes please! Also did you do anything else to help with the weight loss, exercise or restricting? And you replaced two meals with the shakes or was it just 1?

I do workout every day. And Monday I added Cize (from BeachBody) to my exercise program. It kicks my butt but is so fun!
I’ve been trying hard not to binge or restrict while using Shakeology so I can get a good feel for how it works. You replace a meal a day with it, though I suppose you could probably replace 2. I feel a lot better since starting the Shakeology. They’re very nutrient dense without adding a bunch of sugar or other icky stuff! I actually crave them each day.

Thank you, so your typical workout before cize was for how long? If you don’t mind me asking.

I used to do an hour on my stationary bike each day, sometimes a couple hours. Even with that, I wasn’t losing weight until I started the Shakeology.

Wow, thats good to know. Yeah I’m not losing any weight even with exercising right now and my calorie intake is pretty low. Its so frustrating so I think trying something different will help. Thanks!

Do you feel guilty about it? I still feel like I did something wrong.

For me no. It’s how I make my therapist happy without having to eat more. I get the protein. No sandwich. My protein powder is gross too. So the peanut butter also made it bearable I guess.

I’m lucky then tbat my shakes are delicious, I guess. I can’t drink regular protein shakes, and my doctor was complaining.

I do best with shakes. Physical mastication makes me flip out. Drinking I’m ok so if it’s in a shake I’m ok.

I put peanut butter in my shakeology sometimes too- have you tried it with vanilla? So good!

Yes! I tried it first with vanilla and it was soooo good. (There’s an earlier post about it actually.)

Ahhh got it. I started with chocolate and loved it but I’m not a vanilla convert 😀

I love both vanilla and chocolate. I plan to go back and forth.

Hahaha! No, I’ve felt the same way, that some things JUST CAN’T be healthy ’cause they’re so delicious! But alas this was a good food choice (I like organic peanut butter with no additives, including sugar) glad you enjoyed it 😉

That would be my first choice too, but it was the roommate’s peanut butter.

I hear you. My all natural homemade protein shake (frozen banana, plain almond milk, whey protein powder, cocoa powder, ice) tastes just like a frosty from Wendy’s. It tastes so indulgent but is very good for me and somewhat low-cal (220). Plus it helps my muscles recover after a workout!
